You know, I just noticed this...
But if 1.5 is out on the site, why don't we use it?

Search the DBB for this. it's been discussed before. Not every server uses it and anyone who doens't come to the DBB won't know about it.

Once you install D3, copy the fodler and rename it to something else. Install 1.5 and you can run both versions.

Cap, in brief, it doesn't support Linux or Mac (old mac now).

That's why i polled for the OS that folks were using several months ago. There aren't that many Mac users out there 2.. 3? any of the new Mac's have a unix based OS. So old coding isn't (probably) going to work for them anyways. 1.5 is what ... 5 years old now since it was released for testing and then later \"leaked\"?

Plus it's \"Unofficial.\"

I only use unofficial patches if absolutely necessary, such as in morrowind or oblivion.

Like Merlin said, you can browse through some of the threads to get the whole story.

a guy from outrage was working on the 1.5 patch. He lent it to a LANfest to play test it some time ago. It was leaked a bit later and most chose not to use it in respect for Kevin's efforts. Kevin had real life jump up and take him away from the project. 4 years later, we are still without an official release. On the whole at that point, the community decided it was ok to use it until or If it gets finished. It was yet to be tested on MAcs and Linux. ..like I said, Old MAcs.

Check this Forum HERE

I use it for Coop in the original set (it fixed some bugs) and to test levels and to play solo.
