The president the rest of the wold wants?

Post by Gekko71 »

I'd love to hear your comments on the article below people. Granted, nothing within it has any real bearing on the US Presdential race ...but assuming it's an accurate poll, it does paint an interesting picture of the world's view of the two candidates.

...As you should. But what if 'what's best for the US' is to reconnect with the international community and to retore its sliding public image?

I suppose the \"rest\" of the world needs to elect their own president.
It's never good to wake up in the shrubs naked, you either got way too drunk, or your azz is a werewolf.

If people want to fix whats wrong with the world, maybe they should start with their own country first.

Hey, at least this \"world\" survey includes Taiwan. The last \"world\" survey I read didn't include any of the following:

Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel, Taiwan, Japan, Georgia, the Ukraine, South Korea

The common thread between them is that they all rely on the US having a strong military. (Note that McCain picked up a few \"electoral votes\" from Georgia in The Economist's survey.)

Also keep in mind, the right to \"self government\" means we pick our government, not that the Aussies, French, or Russians pick it for us. They vote for their own representatives, we vote for ours, and at the end of the day we all talk down to each other like a bunch of 13 year old kids engaged in a popularity contest. (Didn't middle school teach us all how lame popularity contests are?)

I can think of a few “world leaders” I would like to see hit the road. And I’m not talking about the usual suspects. (badguys)
