The Obama citizenship issue

My question is if the Obama people delivered the birth cert to factcheck.org

http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008 ... e_usa.html

Why not supply it in a legal setting, IE the Phil Berg lawsuit? Here is an interview with Berg by Savage. Don't bother trashing Savage, he's a goofball but listen to Berg's responses.

Whats the deal?

The deal is simple, a response would legitimize the inane question and amplify the discussion.

Also to add:
John McCain was born at the Coco Solo U.S. military base in the Panama Canal Zone to U.S. parents. Although the Panama Canal Zone was not considered to be part of the United States, federal law states: \"Any person born in the Canal Zone on or after February 26, 1904, and whether before or after the effective date of this chapter, whose father or mother or both at the time of the birth of such person was or is a citizen of the United States, is declared to be a citizen of the United States.\" The law that conferred this status took effect on August 4, 1937, one year after John McCain was born — albeit with retroactive effect, resulting in McCain being declared a U.S. citizen.
Notice the McCain camp has not raised this issue. There are only two reasons they would dodge something that could, not just harm, but eliminate their opponent:

One: They are worried about the above. I doubt it, McCain is covered.
Two: It really is just a desperate topic brought up by radical neoCons.

Or it could settle it... It should leave the opposition without a foot to stand on.

I mean it's all very well to say that it doesn't deserve attention, but Mr. Obama himself has made statements justifying the extreme examination of candidates' lives that takes place in a race such as this. Unless they feel they've already dealt with this, for some reason (and it doesn't seem like they dealt with it very thoroughly, if they've only dealt with it on the 'net)...

I wouldn't put much into it. Mr. Berg is a Troofer.

(\"Truther\" - 9/11 was an inside job)

Well, I take back what I said about dealing with it on the net. If it were a question posed by any official entity, then I would expect the evidence to extend beyond the net or FactCheck.org. If it's just something brought up by the opposition then they could very well deal with it in a less official, more publicized manner.

If I heard correctly, the Obama camp was directed by the court to submit the birth certificate into evidence by a certain date and they failed to do so.

So if the issue your brought to court about is \"inane enough\" you can ignore the court?

To the contrary, it would lift them from the gutter and give them a pedestal to stand on. The calls of “forgery”, and "why did it take so long," would be deafening.

If I heard correctly Berg's case was thrown out of court, and he is appealing the ruling to the SCOTUS. I'm not completely mocking your "If I heard correctly..." comment, a quick Google search proved quite difficult to find any reputable right or left wing source regarding this issue. I mean, you did link Michael Savage.... ;)

I'm not denying Obama did that, but it didn't pass the 5 minute google test.

Personally, I think there's nothing to see here, folks. Let's move on.

Ok, sorry but get ready for a long link, I can't remember how to shorten it up...

Goob, I thought I posted a disclaimer in regards to Savage, :) It was Bergs comments that I was trying to get out, makes no difference to me who is asking the questions. Now for the long a$$ link that references the dismissal...

http://www.philly.com/dailynews/local/2 ... allot.html

It was dismissed. But a dismissal does not address the issue. It was ruled that Berg had no standing to bring the case, that he was not personally damaged. IMO, that leaves the citizenship issue open.

If Obama turns out to not be a citizen we will only find out after he's elected and the congress will pass legislation to amend the constitution to make it OK...they're probably about to have enough democrats in power to pull it off.

I think my parents would rather have Biden as president than McCain, but with Obama they won't vote for him.
