A bloke in Adelaide, South Australia has attempted to pay an outstanding bill with a hand-drawn picture of a seven legged spider.

The offer was rejected because the spider picture had little to no value. The picture was later auctioned off on eBay for $10,000 US.

Fun fact: there are several examples of a completely blank paintings selling for millions.
As far as I can gather, it's because the artist did something that others wouldn't, and tried to sell a completely blank painting.
Proving, once again, that something is considered innovative art if the creator did something extraordinary, even if what the art piece is in no way influenced by the extraordinary action.
