Lappy IDE to Desktop Converter

Post by AceCombat »

does such a thing exist, i have a customer whos laptop backlight switch has gone bad, and the board is waaaaay outside of her budget to replace it.

she needs all her school data dropped off the drive to a DVD or CD but i cant do it with the lappy. does such a converter exist?

im also wondering since this is a HP Laptop (Model # dv1622NR) is it a proprietary connector

google turns up this: Cables to Go IDE Converter

im hoping this will work.

i wonder why this link doesnt work with [url] tags

Link is too long, use tinyurl.

If it turns on, copying the needed data over the network isn't an option? Or using an external monitor/console?

If all she needs is the Data recovered from her system, (And you mentioned she was a customer of yours) might be best to spend a few extra bucks and get one of these:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... CatId=3770

Turns any Hard Drive (Laptop, Desktop, SATA) into a USB Drive. Great for trying to recover data.
