Available memory error launching D3

Post by kencl »

Hi Folks,

Anyone seen this error when trying to launch D3? A dialog box comes up saying \"Error: Your system doesn't have enough available memory to continue.\", then it lists memory stats which show plenty of memory (2Gb RAM on a WinXP system). I get this error sporadically. Any idea what I can do about it?

Thanks.

Restart your computer and it will work fine. I have 2 gigs as well, but occasionally some program eats it all up, or maybe it's just a memory leak in Windows or even D3.. who knows.

This time, I just shut down Firefox and it worked. I'll see if that's a pattern.

What would be unsual is if Firefox wasn't eating all your RAM :P

You might want to check the addons you're using with FireFox. Very likely you've got one that is "less than perfect" and hogs way more ram than needed.

Same goes for you. There is no reason for FireFox to eat up the ram. Only the addons you use and other (not FireFox) software you have will eat up too much ram.
