Unable to download files from Internet to Desktop

Friend was having trouble opening pics in Yahoo to view but not download. Also doesn't download to a folder either.
Said it was complete but when I looked it wasn't there.

AVG was saying something about not finding her license so I un-installed AVG and tried to download the exe file to the Desktop. That didn't show up so I tried to download it to a folder and it showed it was finished downloading but the file couldn't be found.

Was this person using the Yahoo browser or Yahoo webmail?

AVG was the culprit.

AVG was acting funny and wouldn't let me totally un-install it and I couldn't get to \"Revo\" to download so I just kept searching for AVG and when I got it \"gone\" the download feature worked again.

As a person who uses AVG on a lot of different systems ... I can tell with high certainty that the reason your \"AVG was the reason\" is because it got seriously corrupted ... and like a good protection program, it shut down many access options in it's attempt to protect you while it was essentially crippled.

Now replace it with a good (not corrupted) copy, or with Avira, or with Avast!

Cheers.

Couldn't install it until I did it in SafeMode. Know all is well.
