THIS seems a bit wierd.

Remember last year some time last when vid of a walking robot was posted? The really LOUD one? Well it seems that the Army is interested in it.

The Military has been interested in Big Dog for a long time. That's what it was built for. They got a $10 million dollar DARPA contract last year, with 3 one year renewals (for a total of $40 mil)

By the way, I'm about a third of the way through Wired For War. It's a FASCINATING look at how robotics is affecting (and will affect) the military. Informative, thoughtful, insightful, terrifying, AND fun to read.
