Players will be able to fly and use their ships using both a first person and a third person view. We are currently exploring more options such as 3D cockpits to provide an intuitive user interface for the first person mode but this has yet to be finalised.

It's not Descent - but man, if you're going to mod something to make a descent-like clone, that would have to be it!!
x2 with Firefox on that monitor setup too!!
Looks like I upgraded my rig just at the right time

It's definitely not a straight Descent replacement, but if you ever wanted a well-coded Descent-like MMO that mixes in some of the best of other games like EVE, Freespace, X3, Wing Commander, X-wing, etc... this is definitely it. I'll be all over this.
I actually got to meet Scott Brown down in Austin while he was down there with Hermann Peterscheck doing a live demo, and he's a very cool person... very down-to-earth. He's having fun playing the game his company has pulled out of their collective hats, and it shows.

Oh, hello.
Someone remembered a game from the early 90s and had a go at a tribute level in their own game. I'm probably going to pass on JG:E, but that's a nice touch.

Looks neat, I'd try it.
Not descent though.
