Sorry for all the fuss. It's been quite a long time since I last dropped by, and I just realized that I've come to an altogether new board than before! My username wasn't among the existing ones, so I had to register once again. I said to myself: oh, whatever. No harm done.
But later this day I stumble across descentbb.com, and I recognized that site as the one I frequented back then! So what's this all about? Was there a server change, both sites function simultaneously or just what?
Suffice it to say that .com split off from .net a few years back, due to some differences in the way people wanted things run, but it's an amicable relationship for the most part now.
You'll find that a number of people, including myself, frequent both boards.
Many felt this site was overmoderated, they wanted a bit more room to stretch their legs (and other things.) Other's on this board wanted it to remain kid-safe etc.
But extending on what Foil said, they are just different not really in opposition. (Though you will find some loyalists on each board who dislike the other).
Not to mention the two forums for D2X-XL and DXX-Rebirth... while I know that some of these were inevitable and/or necessary, it's an awfully small community to split at least six ways.
I've also registered on that German board dedicated to Rebirth. Just wanted to tell them that D2X-Rebirth doesn't work altogether for me. D1X runs perfectly, but D2X crashes after the \"prepare for descent\" intermission, not letting me play whatsoever. hmm. but that's just a digression
