From eating the raw cookie dough... says right on the package contains raw eggs. I myself won't eat cookie dough without baking first. Your own fault for eating raw eggs though.

Raw eggs don't contain the E-Coli bug, only Salmonella.

http://www.fsis.usda.gov/Fact_Sheets/Fo ... /index.asp

E-Coli comes from a ruminant feeding animal's digestive system, ie. cow poop, so that means somehow the cookie dough became contaminated by some other method. Bad milk maybe? Milk can get contaminated with E-Coli due to unclean milking procedures. I think this dough contained dried milk.

Missing the point yet again? The \"problem\" still means the same thing. The idiots should have cooked the dough first.

True, but E-Coli is far more dangerous to get than Salmonella. E-Coli can destroy your kidneys and KILL you, while Salmonella just makes you vomit and have the trots. It also says that something had to really be dirty in the Nestle plant or in the supply chain in order to their taint cookie dough with E-Coli. ICK!

Who doesn't love a nice fingerful of raw cookie dough now and then

yup, and if there is ecoli in their process, then they need to get out on the floor and find out what's going on. That's not a bacteria that common to food without introduction via external contamination. (yes, that was a little redundant)

Buyer beware does not apply here.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Cookie dough. That's why I only eat it raw from the stuff I mix up myself. At least if I get sick, it will only because of any Salmonella from the eggs.
