What was your fist gaming console (NOT PC) you've ever got? I'm not talking about handhelds (e.g. Gameboy), I'm talking about big ones (e.g. NES, PS1)
The first console I've ever got was the Nintendo 64 along with Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Commodore 64. Everything else was a pale keyboardless comparison.

Never had a console yet. That might change soon though; there are a bunch of console games I would like to play one day.

Magnavox Gaming Console Circa:1972
EDIT: come to think of it. it's still sitting in my old bedroom closet in my parents house, I'm guessing it still works. might be worth something
I also had one of these. Probably still in the closet also.

[Edit: Mine came with 0 games, but had a programming guide, so any games I played on it had to be something I created myself. I credit that machine as the beginning of my career in programming.]

I first got my Nintendo 64 in 2000 as an attendance prize, along with 2 controllers and Mario Tennis.

Heh, the first console I ever owned was a PS one, but I had gotten that prolly in 2002, and then my friend gave me his PS2 when it started acting up, I fixed it and although I have used it, now I hardly use it, but I can play my copy of Descent on it

I'll eventually be getting a PS3 to play the 3 newest Ratchet & Clank games for it, but that has to wait; I haven't the funds yet.

I could've sworn I had a great comeback for that, but for some reason I can't seem to remember now what it was.

some strange thing that was called \"universum multispiel 2006\", i think from the year 1977.
it had pong and a few other games and was connected to the black&white tv of my parents.
after that i went over to a atari 2600, then commodore 64, then a lot of pc´s.
since one year or so i also have a ps3 wich really has a lot of fun to offer.

Technically, TRS80 was my first gamebox. Then Pong, then Atari 2600 satiated my gaming appetite until NES. That's the last one I got. Now I have Sega, NES and SNES on emulation.

Technically, the first console we had was an Atari 2600. It was one of the early ones with the faux-woodgrain panelling given to us by my aunt and uncles family. However, we didn't have it all that long and I didn't get to play it all that much because we sold it in order to buy a Sega Master System bundle.
From there it was a Mega Drive (Genesis to you folks in the states), PS1, PS2, Nintendo 64 (they were all but giving them away in anticipation right before the GameCube launch so I though I'd snag one), Wii and PS3. There were others but I can't remember where they fit into the overall timeline (we had a Vectrex for a while) or don't count given the limited scope outlined in the original post
