For flight sims and racing games thats definitely a cool trick, definitely something I would want in my next racing game.
But the first person shooter bit has got to be among the most useless technology I have ever seen. In order for it to be of any use, you would have to impose limits on turning speed just like there are in Descent/racing games/flight sims.

Yup, I have a Track IR2. Pretty neat thing. They are up 5 now? Grendle works next door to these guys.
It's not so hot for Descent as even though XL supports it, you only get to turn the ship not the pilot's head inside the cockpit. (of course that would require a complete remake of the game.) ArmA II supports it though.
Krom, for games like Lock-On and IL-2, it's almost necessary. The fights can become so intense, following your target visually with a stick hat becomes futile. T-IR gives you a real edge in those games. Kind of like having a 3D Pro over a mouser back in the day.
Black Shark is fun and the rest of the fully supported sims, not to mention when BSG-Beyond the Redline is released for FS2-SCP ...oh man

I'm thinking of getting TrackIR 5 for the WW1 sim Over Flander's Field (major mod for MSCFS3)...and for Rise of Flight.
Seems everyone loves the TrackIR....

There is a slight Bug in CFS3 with Track IR,, easy remedy though.. IF you do not have Logitech Mouse you have no Issues....... your done.
If you do have Setpoint installed CTRL-SHFT-ESC to Task Manager Kill Setpoint.exe .. Launch Game CFS3
Track IR support was an afterthought for Microsoft and was not included in the game's Original Release and is added to CFS3 with the M$ CFS3 Update.. Microsoft was lazy adding the function of TrackIR and fudged it with special mouse calls... must have been an Ex Outrage Employee

Thanks Bubba! I have a Logitech G9 mouse, so I'll remember to kill setpoint when I play. CFS3 and OFF is on it's way...so hopefully after I get it set up, I'll get TrackIR and the clip you linked to.

So I have TrackIR 5 running (on the beta drivers), and I havent had any issues with CFS3...none that I see anyway.
What is the "slight bug"?
