ok.. i'm never on time in the music world because most of the time it's a waste of time. for example this band is releasing a new disc very soon while the writer un-pills himself.

but holy buckets!
my friend gave me a copy of "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" by wilco... and my god the song "Radio Cure" is what i seek to attain as a musician. technology and the organic mixed with real human emotions fluctuating from the positive to the negative from the possible to the impossible. real stones and beatles production made into a burrito.

Heh, why am I not surprised at the lack of responses to your post?

Wilco is led by Jeff Tweedy. Jeff Tweedy and Ray Farrar were the prime movers behind Uncle Tupelo back in the early '90s. The critics had to make up a whole new genre for them: Alt-Country.

Uncle Tupelo made only 4 albums, each better than the last. After they split, Ray created Son Volt and Jeff created Wilco. Each had extremely strong early releases; Son Volt's "Trace" and Wilco's "Being There" were amazing, with both weeping ballads and blazing rock. Each band has subsequently drifted from their roots - they've gone more experimental.

Cops, if you like the new Wilco and old classic rock (and I know you do!) you might want to do yourself a favor and grab some of these older albums. I would recommend:

Uncle Tupelo: Anodyne
Wilco: Being There
Son Volt: Trace
