Interesting... The D1 strategy guide referred to level 14 of the original mission as \"Ganymede Military Base\" for some reason.
EDIT: I mean the strategy guide (the book on how to play the game), not the game itself.

Level 14 is Europa Carbon Dioxide Mine if I'm not mistaken. I'm positive there is no level Ganymede Military Base. But the names of the levels were styled after the original campaign...going through the solar system again...(Neried Space Vaults, because the Neptune moons are named after Posiden's nerieds)

Yes, lots of new D1 and D2 missions coming out recently, Descent Vignettes, Enemy Within, and a little further back: Apocalyptic Factor. Descend Again is nice too. Lots of new stuff for classic Descenters to enjoy now!

I played the first 3 levels, and here's what I have to say:
The level design is pretty good, much better than average, around the quality of the original Descent. The levels greatly resemble those of the original mission in regards to the planet they're taking place on. The difficulty is very challenging, which is a good thing. I have some words of criticism, though. Sometimes you mischoose textures, and you put those that would fit floors better on ceilings and vice versa. The texture alignment is shabby sometimes too, some wall portions are textured diagonally while other portions horizontally, which kills the aesthetics. Lastly, your hostage placement is really fucked up. I don't know if it was intentional, but I don't like it.
Anyway, I'll surely continue through this set, it is very strongly reminescent of the original Descent, has some nice colorful textures etc.
PS That underwater simulation in level 3 was unreal, honestly.

I'm...terrible at hostages. DMB2 needs to give me something better than an arrow to work with. the level 3 hostages were completely goofed due to the side rotation I used for that whole area. You can only spin objects on one axis, and that axis didn't upright them. The hostages get better throughout the set, but they do retain a strange quality of freefloat or chopped-off knees. Thanks for trying it out.
