System restore points

Can I delete the restore points in Sys Volume Info on my \"slave drive\"?

The question arose when AVG found a questionable file in that folder on that drive.

AVG cleared it but just got me curious.

System restore data is drive-specific. This means that you cannot transfer restore data between drives. I don't use system restore because it's a safe haven for malware.

Don't want to transfer just delete.

I know I can turn off Sys restore and it will delete them on \"C\" drive. Just didn't know about my \"slave\" drive.

If you open up the system restore tab in the system properties, it will show it for all the drives it's monitoring. If your 'slave' drive is listed in there, then it will delete the data when you turn it off.

You could also use system restore to delete all but the most recent restore point, or use a program like CCleaner to delete the excess data.

Zantor, that did the trick since it's my backup drive and I don't want to take up any space with restore points.
