Roman Candles

I find it somewhat disturbing the number of people who say Roman Polanski should not be extradited to the states and serve a jail term for for the rape of a 13 year old girl. After all the girl now grown, has forgiven Polanski so why should not everyone else?
I even heard a caller on a radio talk show, when asked what he would do if it was his daughter who just got raped, he mildly states he would talk to his daughter and ask how she felt and talk to her about it. The caller was one of those who said Polanski should walk.
Now I don't know about the rest of you, but I so happen to still have my K-Bar that is still as sharp as when I had it when I was in the service. Mr Polanski would not be worrying about extradition or much else if I was the thirteen year olds father. You may point out that I would wind up going to jail myself, but I think not. Temporary insanity and a good lawyer would give a jury all the excuse they needed to acquit me.
Anyway, here's a link to the girls testimony in case you too feel sorry for Mr Polanski:

yeah. But it (edit: killing rapists) should just be legal anyway. Heck, it should be legal to challenge someone to a dual...

[Edited after Isaac's clarification.]
Whether the girl forgave him has very little legal relevance to the case. He should be extradited, given a trial, and serve his sentence if convicted.
Forgiveness is a great thing, but it should not determine the consequences.
[Woody, if I was the girl's father, I'd be tempted to take it into my own hands as well; but justice needs to be independent from feelings.]

Statutory Rape is still Rape and he shouldn't have run in the first place. Time to pay the piper Polanski. This girl was somebody's daughter back then and he drugged her to get what he wanted. Sleaze bag!

I think he was referring to Woodchip dusting off his K-Bar. But ya, people who drug and rape 13 year olds are why God gave us tall trees and short ropes.

Especially when in
other cases it can be a 'he said' 'she said' argument. Wouldn't it be fun to be falsely accused then sawed in half by the father?

TBH, I think it should just be the death penalty in a manner chosen by the parents. Lethal Injection is too good for these people.

Tall trees and ropes are so less personal than a finely whetted knife.

I think in this case though it's a
'she said' and
'he admitted but doesn't feel guilty' agreement instead of an argument so I vote for Woody to field dress the bum with his K-Bar!

I second the motion.
