I want these:

Mattracks are cool but they give you no momentum when driving meaning you have to always be on the gas. If your vehicle isn't healthy enough to take such a beating you could experience an engine fire.
MATTRACKS customers have enjoyed very good service from their tracks. Most customers report only moderate wear in 7 to 8 years of operation. MATTRACKS have had tracks operating in Yellowstone National Park that have traveled over 30,000 miles with no noticeable wear.
And they will cost about as much as the truck you're putting them on.
How fast can you travel with MATTRACKS?
Never travel faster than the conditions or terrain warrant! On a hard surface, MATTRACKS can travel at high rates of speed for short distances. We recommend not exceeding 40 mph.
They might catch fire as well.

I'm still trying to find out how they fare on icy roads.

edit:
Oh yeah! So do you have these or know some redneck that does? Please share! :)

edit:
Sci-fi stuff but cool:

I don't know which thread it was ... but I believe these have been talked about on the DBB.net before.

They are indeed cool ... but the wise limit their speeds to 40 mph or less. I live near an area where they are used each winter.

I feel the same way, but I ran a quick search and nothing came back. But even if they were already, not the end of the world.

I'd love to put them on my truck. I'll have to wait to buy a 4x4. It might be a spunky Toyota Tacoma.
