..for nerds tho :) Check out the Xport 2.0. Heck, I'll get one and try to interface it w/ the OBD-II comp of my car -- makes a neat dashboard device.

Now, anyone w/ the "Nerds" picture handy ?

You would be the first to claim a $30,000 dollar game console?

Whatever you make out of it :P In a nutshell you get a very powerfull embedded system development environment for very cheap. Great for getting kids started w/ programming (robotics) eg. Or, in my case, for hooking it up to your car to monitor the motor :)

Reminds me of someone buying a bunch of Xbox consoles for cheap (they were cheaper than the individual hardware pieces they were made of a while back). He would mod them as described on the internet, install Linux and make himself a server cluster using the network ports of the machines.

Or someone else used an Xbox as webserver. Cheaper than any other alternative :)

No, you write the code on a PC and (I assume) download it to the flash ROM on the card.

I have heard of a Game Boy Advance web server. There's also been some buzz in the Linux community about getting Linux to run on a GBA. Wouldn't that be painful?

Same reason and you get the FPGA w/ the Xport -- allows you to interface to almost anything w/ little effort.

I think they make a "Song Boy" accessory that adds MP3 support to the GBA. It's not officially sanctioned by Nintendo, of course.
