Kids love Bloodsuckers

I am starting to notice a ridiculous increase of children and teens getting into the whole vampire genre of books, games, movies, what have you. Seriously, it's everywhere and I'm guessing its some kind of stupid fad now to like all this Twilight related garbage.
Is there anyone here who feels the way I do?

No, you're right. I ranted about it a couple months back. It all kinda started with \"Lost Boys\" back in the 80's. Twilight just really pushed it into the heart throb scene. Kinda messed up if you ask me.
It's been simmering for quite a while. Buffy did a lot to push the genre.

Give me back my monsters. Since when is being a vampire just about intercourse/hooking up?

it's just a phase.
it'll end when someone decides it's 'not cool'.

When the next Twilight movie comes out and totally sucks, it will end.

They could have wesley snipes make a surprise appearance with his blade character. Then I'd actually watch it. Sha shaa!

The whole Interview with the Vampire was pretty cool...
Other than that I want to punch these kids. I didn't even believe it was a serious fad when I saw the South Park episode.

I think the SP episode was a huge warning to all of us, but now the kids are taking it too far- thinking it's cool to have pale skin.

Southpark is the 'smartest' show on television. Downright offensive, but smart.

Personally, I don't see this blowing over any time soon. It's a subculture that's pretty deeply ingrained. When you consider the circumstances that perpetuate this kind of identity crisis. Unless something radical changes in culture itself, it's most likely to only get worse.
A lot of these kids that start early have underlying issues like ADD or Asbergers. Certainly not all, but it's easy to fall in with a group that feels rejected for one reason or another. My daughter went through this.. and still is. Unfortunately, they don't Help each other; it's more like an adolescent slumber pity-party.
The whole \"no one understands me! (and I don't want them to)\"

I absolutely agree..... I can't believe the stuff they get away with some times. But I always am impressed with how intelligent and spot on the comedy is, even though it's so raunchy.....

I don't know about kids but my wife is so in love with Edward. She has got all his posters hanging in her office.
I ask her one question and she still has not answered me about it. She is in her forties. I simply asked who would be robbing the cradle her or Edward?
