Descent 3 Grapics flickering

Post by Atol »

Basicly the system is a Acer core duo 1.66ghz and 128mb intergraded gpu intel 945GM. 4gb of ram Shared memory. 100gb hard drive.

Now when I go and play Descent 3 The wall start messing up. Shuttering. Not sure of the word.

Things I tried Lowering grapics setting, Change from 32bit to 16 bit. Tried differnt Screen res. Have Rev. 1.4

One more thing I would like to get the RumblePad2 to work on this game. Basicly the two joysticks on it control updown left right and the other slide. Pointing fingers control Banking and the other button weapons missle and after burn. This would be close to what my old setup would be. Dual flight sticks. :) God I love that old setup.

Use Direct 3D if you aren't already. Or try openGL. But I would imagine your intergrated video is causing the issue.

Intel video drivers are notorious for having problems like this, unfortunately there is no fix for it most of the time. (Other than perhaps if enough people complain about it to Intel they may eventually devote a few more people to cleaning up their drivers.)

Yep. Try searching around for updated Intel drivers, I did so for my wife's laptop and it helped.
