I have sent a friend a video that is an \"avi\" file created on Windows Movie Maker.
He is unable to play it on his iMac model A1224.
Suggestions?

That being said, Apple has much better container formats to support - the ones they had a hand in, namely Quicktime and its offspring MPEG-4.

Depending on what codec was used in that AVI file, you might be able to convert it to a format more widespread and compatible than what it's in right now. If I convert a video using Any Video Converter, I can choose one of about 5 or 6 formats in video, and one of 3 formats in audio for AVI.
