Case: ----> Antec 900 Case (Had Firewire port I demand, plus some great features)
CPU: -----> i7 920 OC to 3.7/3.885 GHz Air Cooled ( Prolimatech Megahalems rev B )
RAM: -----> 6GB (3 x 2GB) Corsair Dominator DDR3 @ 1.85GHz
Video: ---> EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX 285 1GB (Way more power than I need)
MB: ------> Asus P6X58D Premium MB had the Firewire I need, Plus SATA 6GB, and USB 3.0
PS: ------> XION 800Watt PS
HD: ------> 3 x Caviar 500GB SATA in a RAID 0 config for very fast 1.5TB HD
DVD: ----> 2 x LiteOn 24X SATA DVDRW DL
Blu-ray: -> LG Super Multi Blu-ray Rewriter 10x SL/8x DL
Display: -> LG 27\" 1920x1080 display (this is the best $389 I ever spent)
OS: ------> Dual Boot Win7 64Bit / XP 32bit

I basically backed off the common 190MHz (over)clock to 185.
Everything at stock voltage, didn't need to crank it up. Runs nice and cool.
With the Tri-Channel Memory, and high clocks it is way more machine than I really need.
Maybe with my new HiDef (1920x1080) video camera I will use more of the power.

Hey Sickone, you should drop the dual boot, just run Windows 7 x64 and use your XP license in a Sun VirtualBox VM (Or VMWare player). Its easier and faster than dual booting and takes less disk space. Everything that you need XP in order to do, can be done in a XP VM without the need to shut down your entire OS and reboot the machine, its awesome.

Now I wonder what kind of clocks you could get on water cooling... :D

Oh yeah, I haven't posted in this yet this year...

Still chugging on the same machine:
Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 GHz @ 3.0 GHz (stock voltage)
Arctic Cool Freezer 7 pro (v1) CPU cooler
8 GB Corsair DDR2 @ 667 MHz 1:1
Abit AW9D-MAX mobo
Nvidia 8800 GT 512 MB
700w OCZ PSU
320 GB Seagate 7200.10 OS/programs
750 GB Seagate 7200.11 download/work/mirror drive
1500 GB Seagate 7200.11 bulk storage/mirror
Pioneer 20x DVDRW
Dualview CRT @ 1280x960/100 Hz and 20\" 1600x1200 LCD.
BTC 6200C USB keyboard
Logitech G7 RF wireless mouse
Logitech MX Revolution RF wireless mouse
Yamaha 650w (RMS) Dolby Digital/DTS 5.1 home theater audio system
Windows 7 Professional x64

Hey ya Krom

I have Sun VirtualBox, have only played with it a bit. I rarely (in fact currently never) boot to XP. I put it in when I brought the system up because I have some very old software (~1995) that I need to run sometimes. It was my safety net. I'll get VirtualBox setup when I have time and verify it works with everything.

I suspect I could get some big clock jumps with Water cooling. I can go farther now. It seemed everyone was getting 190MHz (3.8/3.99GHz) with voltage bumps. I can do 188 with no bumps. I just set it at 185 because a few MHz doesn't make any real difference to me. The system is way faster than I need.

It was just fun to build a system again. Back in the 'Asylum' I had 20 systems, all leading to bleeding edge. But I hadn't built a new Desktop in 8 years. It was almost out of boredom, not need.
That brought me back here... so well worth the money.

Been converting some Digital Video tapes to MPG from the old days before the tapes crap out... great to look back on some of those weekly LAN nights.
Nirvana, Birdseye, Mayhem, Vander, Rock, Jason Leighton after he left Outrage, and many others. Great stuff

I am rambling...
