USA beats Canada for the gold in the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.

Could it be a preview of what's to come in Febuary? (I doubt it.)
Okay... I admit that the subject might be a bit of a stretch. Hockey
is Canada's sport, though.

It was an amazing game. Sadly we started to fumble the puck to often and we went 4 deep in your zone and left 1 defenceman back which is how you won the game. I did see some inconsistences witht he refs with boarding calls and stuff. 5 in a row is a tough run to beat and I don't think anyone will beat it anytime soon.

For hockey being Canada's sport, there seems to be a surprising lack of strong Canadian teams in the NHL...

We have 6 teams to your 24. It's obvious we are out gunned. But remember, many CDNs are on those US teams.

It must have been part of their strategy to get more views from the US.

Looks like it's still true that more than half of the NHL players are Canadian. There are lots of teams in the US because there are more American suckers willing/able to pay than there are Canadian suckers. (I.E. NHL team locations are driven by fan base, not player nationality.)

I should point out that I'm not in the US just yet.

So.... what kinda of a prophetic call was this? The US beat Canada for the top seed in their division, and the lowest that the US can finish now is fourth. Woohoo go USA hockey!

Looks like it's going to be US vs CAN for gold. US is playing Finland and Can is playing Slovakia.
