Just was thinking about watching District 9 since is on Redbox now. Anyone like it?
How gory was it?
When I saw the previews, I was interested in the concept but then I noticed it was rated R so I couldn't talk anyone to going to the theater to watch it.

I do. I have it on Blu-Ray and it's amazing. Very gory in the second half, to answer your question.

Very good, I consider it to be in the top 3 of movies I saw last year.

It was a very unusual movie. If, by the look of it, you can stand it, it is worth watching.

Pretty good movie. More about racism and the way Africans were treated than about aliens. I guess it had a good message about human nature. I just wish it had more \"alien\" events instead of human ones disguised as alien. It's worth a watch though.

Uhmm probably why I haven't watch it yet, they say you should be proud of local stuff, especially if it gets international recognition but somehow I feel that this card have been pulled once to many and gets to the point where it disgusts me so I will rather opt to spare me a couple of hours and not get frustrated.
Well that's what I'm getting from some of the rant and reviews I read

Either you're in South Africa (which I'm guessing you are?) or you didn't know the movie is set there.

The other dot? There's Cape Town and Durban, at least. :]
Bloemfontein and Pretoria I couldn't pick out on a map without looking them up, though I think one of them was just down the road from Jhb.
