E-D Glasses by EDimensional work with Descent3?
In the faq of your site they say:
What games work with the E-D Glasses?
There is no need to purchase special games to work with the E-D Glasses. Virtually all of the games you already own work instantly and automatically by integrating with the free software that come packaged with all our glasses. New games also generally work great when they are first released without having to update your software. Just install our patented software one time and your games and the latest titles will automatically be converted into the format for 3D viewing. You do not sacrifice game performance or quality when using the glasses.

I have to admit even XL sounded interesting when I heard it had a 3d mode. Pretty cool stuff. I guess ole diedal will always be a douchebag in my eyes, but to give credit where credit is due, XL is running pretty stable on my PC. I have yet to try the 3d but I will soon. Some neat improvements with XL and to be running nicely on this old pos computer deserves some mention.

Even though it feels like only yesterday it has actually been almost two years, time sure flies...
If I recall correctly the nVidia stereoscopic display stuff doesn't normally require anything special as far as the game is concerned - but some games can break it (depends what effects they use).
The 3D rendering I've heard about in D2X-XL is anaglyphic rendering, which uses different colours for left/right. I haven't tried it myself because I don't have the glasses for it, though.

i used to play Quake3 crosseyed with those special nVidia drivers, they worked pretty well - my eyes didn't though.Sirius wrote:If I recall correctly the nVidia stereoscopic display stuff doesn't normally require anything special as far as the game is concerned - but some games can break it (depends what effects they use).
So the ED glasses's claim that "Virtually all of the games you already own work instantly and automatically" is probably accurate.
But clearly you don't need their proprietary software, that bit is likely bull★■◆●.
The glasses look like any-old 3D shutter glasses.
