Alright I sort of got it working but I can only map controls to the left analog stick, select button, L3, R3, and right on the d-pad. Can anyone help me?

I use a program called xpadder in Windows to map the buttons on the DS3, it works really well and can map all of them. All buttons can be used as far as I have tested. Though I haven't tested it with Descent in Windows but Descent in Linux is able to use all buttons.

Looks like xpadder is pay now, dang. When I installed it it was free. Maybe there are other programs out there that will do the same.
