I've got an asx file (windows media player) and I need to find out where the source is on the internet so I can play the movie without being connected to the internet, how do I do that?

you try opening it in notepad? I'm grasping in the dark here, but that's always my first step.

get this free program :)
i use it to save streaming realmedia files, it can save streams for a lot of formats.

shove the asx file into the program and it will give you the link to the full file, and then also give you the option to stream (and save) it.

(google for help in howto use it, or if you are still having trouble, ask us)

happy to help
