which is better? the Creative X-Fi Gamer card or a onboard 8 Channel HD Audio Chipset?

im about to purcahse a EVGA p55 132-LF-E655-KR 1156 CPU Board, and i need to know which is better, so i will know whether to yank my X-Fi card out of my current box and use it on this new board or leave it as the 8 Channel HD is sufficient

currently im playing BF2 and BF2 AIX V2.0 Mod, and soon to be playing BFBC2, BF3 and BF1943. also might start playing AAO3

I love my X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty pro for sure. I don't know about the Realtek audio. Haven't ever used them.

I looked up your board at eVGA and the download for audio was Realtek. You can check for yourself here

Onboard is fine if you use Toslink/SPDIF although its limited to stereo PCM unless you use some Dolby Digital or DTS encoding (increases CPU overhead), but because its digital its noiseless till the amp decodes it. Otherwise if you are using analog connections to an amp use the add-on card.
