keyboard wont let system fans power down

I bought a logitech illuminated keyboard (great kb btw), but have run into a problem.
When I put the system in standby, the case lights and fan stay on.
This is a direct result of the new keyboard.

When I unplug the new kb and put in my old one, the system and lights/fan all shut down on standby.

I tried uninstalling the sw that came with the kb, but that didnt help.
I tried a system restore, that didnt stop the problem either.

Cant find an option to disable hybernation or something similar (the kb will bring the system back up even if the space bar is hit).

I vaguelly remember having this problem before, but cant remember the fix.

anyone know how to disable this function?

Thanks!

Figured it out.
The power management options under properties of the keyboard had a box enabling the device to bring the computer out of hibernation. Unclicking the box disabled the ability to bring the pc out of sleep, and also did away with the need for the device to have power so that it could bring the pc out of sleep.

It's that power need that keeps the lights/fans operating after going into standby mode.

Hope this helps someone.

A slightly different issue has arisen though. My G9 mouse (run by set point software) has the lights on all the time now, even when the system is in shutdown mode.
I cant find an option to disable the lights on it (not the laser light on the bottom, but the lights on the top that show what mode the mouse is in).

Anyone have a solution for this one?
