So, I'm a pretty easy going guy when it comes to my stuff. I'm a little too trusting of people sometimes.
For the past year, I've lived inside a set of really nice college apartments. Last year, I was out of an XBox all Summer since my XBox was borked due to the E74 issue and the fact that I had opened it to fix the disk drive previously to that issue, thereby voiding my warranty. So, my fiancee and I bought a refurbished arcade XBox 360 and I slapped my elite 120GB drive and the black faceplate on and all was well. I enjoyed ODST, Modern Warfare 2, Guitar Hero 5, and Mass Effect 2 for quite a while this year in my free time, whenever I was off and she had to work. I had many good lans this year as well with it. Sadly, this year, due to only having a part time job, I've barely scraped by with her help.
We have watched a lot of netflix and played a lot of radio, used to stream music to the front room from windows media player so that we could practice swing dancing.
Most of my room mates seemed really cool. We had one room mate that pretty much was a couch potato but we ran him out so to speak lol. All of my room mates seemed really cool and very trustworthy. Everyone pretty much left all of their stuff sitting everywhere so I really didn't worry about my stuff that much.
One of my room mates has been fighting a drug addiction and I got tired of hauling my XBox to the front room and back to my bedroom every night or for LAN parties so I just left it in the front living room and told everyone that if they wanted to use it, it was fine with me, if they wanted to borrow it or play it in their room, just ask me and I would probably be fine with it as long as it was returned after words.
So, everyone had to move out on the 8th and it crossed my mind to stick my box back in my bedroom before I left for work that morning. Well, I came back and noticed one of my room mates sitting on the couch watching TV that day and he told me he was sick all day. I wondered why he wasn't watching Netflix on my box but really didn't bother too look as I was busy cleaning the kitchen and then went to take a shower. My fiancee got home after 8 and we went out to pick up cleaning supplies and when I came back, I went to turn on my XBox so I could play a little radio on Last.fm for everyone while we cleaned the apartment. But it BOOM it wasn't there! WTF??!! I came to find out that everything related to my XBox was gone but my stereo and 30\" TV was still sitting there along with Avatar and couple other DVDs. My XBox, my PC adapter cable, TV XBox cables, my power cable, COD:MW2, Mass Effect 2, and ODST were all gone! Even my charger cable and my controller were snagged.
What sucks is that I just got my tax returns and finally felt like I could put some money back into savings, which I desperately needed. What did I plan to do my bachelor party? Have a huge XBox LAN. So, no XBox for me till I'm married.
Ahhh well. I wish we could have lojack on these things. The thing is that I don't know who would have taken it. Most of my room mates could care less about the XBox and most of them knew that I was scraping the bottom of the barrel for money this year and trying to get married. Most of them became close friends with me.
I only would suspect one of them but I don't even know that he is even interested in the XBox and he still lives here. Only other thing I can think of is that the maintenance guy might have snagged it to pawn off as my fiancee said she saw my XBox there that morning and said she saw him come in.
NOOOOOOO XBOX ALL GONE!!!!

That sucks man. Reminds me of a situation I had once.
I was living in a 3 room apartment with two other room mates near the community college. One roommate was Korean, pretty easy going, and I hardly ever saw him. The other one was a Japanese guy who liked to have friends over often and play MahJong and drink all night. One night he was having his little party and I went to bed. I used to leave my door slightly ajar so the cat could go out and do her business in the living room cat box. Around one or two am I was awoken by my jacket being flung on top of me. Startled, I sat up and tried to look around. I could barely see a dark figure crouching down near my bed trying to hide. I called out \"who is that?\" at which point the person darted out the door and then out the front door.
Luckily nothing was stolen. The best I could assume is my room mates left the front door either open or unlocked as they often left to take smoking breaks and someone saw it as an opportunity. They probably thought we were all in the roommates room having a party and that my dark room was empty. I probably would have had some things stolen had he not taken my jacket off my computer chair and thrown it on me. I started locking my door after that.
