Printer problem

Post by thewolfe »

Working with Epson CX5800F on Win XP.

I can get it to work on a laptop but the Desktop it was originally installed on will not work now.

I have un-installed the printer from the Desktop and re-installed using the latest driver from Epson.

Shows up in \"Printer and Faxes\" but won't print and all the color cartridges are grayed out in the Properties window.

Any suggestions?

Uninstall the printer, then in printers and faxes go up to file ---> server properties ---> drivers tab and remove all drivers for it, reboot, then reinstall it.

Not to mention make sure all the epson printer icons are deleted from the devices & printer section under the start menu. ~Note : unless you kill the print spooler service you may have to check for print jobs in cue and cancel them before you can delete the icons (each one has their own btw) make sure the printers usb cable is unplugged, reboot install the drivers and only plug the usb cable back in when instructed by the drivers

The Print Spooler in Admin tools/ Services did the trick.

Thanks for the posts.
