Kicked from servers

Before I ask, I've used the search. And came up with stuff that only applies to Linux systems. I do not use this. :<
So, I've tried going onto the only CTF game that receives anybody. And that's the \"Descent Retirement Home I\" server, as well as a few other servers named under the \"Descent Retirement Home\" and \"DescentFORUM.net\" servers. I get kicked with a message, \"Player Freakster being kicked for low Network Connection Speed!\"
I currently run a Dell Inspiron 1750 laptop, Windows 7, it's a x64 bit system, and more importantly, I use a Linksys by Cisco Wireless-N Router (WRT610N), with Cable connectivity.
Is there something I can do so I can play the games? I really like CTF game styles, but equally, it wouldn't be worth it to fix it, and slow everyone else down. So... I guess my question is really, is there a way I could fix this issue, and play with normal lag time?
