UK Teenager Banned From America For Life Over Obscene Obama Email

...\"The police came and took my picture and told me I was banned from America forever. I don't really care but my parents aren't very happy.\"...

I guess you can call Obama all sorts of things-
just don't do it in an e-mail.

He probably sent a death threat, otherwise this would have to be some kind of joke. I imagine insulting emails is the only thing that flies into the Whitehouse faster than 'donations' and there is no way they would make such a big deal over \"prick\".

The story on a website says a kid said the local police said he is "banned from America forever."

Reliable source.

Joanne Ferreira, of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, said there are about 60 reasons a person can be barred from visiting America.

Well let's see. As it was mentioned in the OP.

Nope. I must have missed it.

good. maybe you guys aren't completely clueless after all. :D

but the underlying message (that was missed) was: how is this Obama's fault when the UK has internet policies that are different than the united states.

Best part: the kid claims he \"doesn't remember\" what was in the e-mail. It's in his damn sentbox, guys. Either he's not sharing it or he deliberately deleted it. This implies that the contents of his email were far worse than just calling Obama a \"prick,\" possibly even including threats or implied threats.

Until we see the email in question, this is really a nonissue.

Null, I agree. Non-issue. Which, BTW is why I have withheld comment.

I prefer to attempt to diffuse nonissues before they degenerate into masturbatory "the current administration is bad because __________" conversations over unimportant minutiae. :)

The kid is banned because if he ever moved here he would probably become a republican voter.

Too True therefore it IS funney!

Who, exactly, is banning him? Nowhere in the story does it mention this, except in a quote from the kid. No direct statement from FBI or local police. Does America not want him here, or do the Brits not want him here?

How exactly could the Brits ban him from America?

Careful…that question could be a setup.

So do you think he is lying about it?

If so why did
Joanne Ferreira, of the US Department of Homeland Security, said there are about 60 reasons a person can be barred.

She added: \"We are prohibited from discussing specific cases.\"

Boilerplate response.

I think it's more likely that he's lying about the content of his email, or that he misunderstood what the local police said to him. He doesn't sound like the smartest person.

Same could of been said about topics posted here when Bush was in office.
