Now it comes out, from the granddaughter of Second Officer Lightoller (the only officer that survived the sinking), that the Titanic may have been sunk by a standards and practice change in helm procedure that panicked the helmsman and the impatience of the chairman of the White Star Line, Bruce Ismay, to get to New York on time.

Actually it was suspected to be the case immediately after the sinking that the iceberg was steered into instead of away from.
