D3 At Work
Is it possible to run the editor without actually having the game installed? I'd like to use it at work but unfortunately I cant install the game (my job is kinda funny like that) Are there certain files that I can perhaps pull off the D3CD that I can use as a D3 directoryt to get the editor to work?

The last time I installed D3 on my Computer is some years ago. I have a ZIP / CD where all my fav. missions.
It is just a copy of my D3 / 1.4 / NoCD / .PLT / PPICS.HOG / reticle / missions / taunts / logo.
If I want to "install" that D3 to any computer I can jst copy all the files from that CD. You don't need to install the game.
This way you will be save and sure. AND you could even play D3 (if the firewall don't block this).

I have also the problem, that I want do build levels at work :-]
the only thing you need is, DigiJo said it already, the editor and the d3.hog. That's all.
Checkor: I cannot play D3 at work (during nightshift for instance), because i would have to install/copy D3 over the employer's LAN - And to copy 300 Megs over a 10MBit-LAN is no fun. So I build "at work" and do the rest at home. (hehe..so my girl friend doesn't see me sitting in front of the computer and thuinks I would have some haaard work to do ;-] As I told her about 3 weeks ago that I would start to build a new level she complained about it....but yesterday - as she saw a result, she was "proud" hehe)
So I can fully understand pipsqueak!

Since a few weeks I own an USB stick Thru this "backdoor" I was able to put my stuff onto every computer I wanted to
D3Edit doesn't need to be "installed" - it only has to be copied to a random directory.
If the admins also have blocked this way - they seem to understand their job well
Nightmare: Quicktest? No, I prefer to use automn3. A tool coded by Roady (in VisualBasic)that makes it veeery easy to stitch the components together that are needed for a level and also starts D3 automaticaly for testing
