Fringe love (super rant)

This new relationship thing with the characters Peter Bishop and Olivia (Git-er)Done'm is ticking me off. I love all the scary and almost Stargate-SG1-ish end-of-the-world problems they battle on each episode... I even like the actress that plays Olivia!

But I hate them going off and on about how much they mean to each other... and why they should and shouldn't hook up...

This is what happed to that 70's show. It was a stoner comedy for a while then it became about the two main characters' relationship. I wanted to watch a stupid comedy, not an ABC prime time drama.

Maybe it's just me, because I hate romance in any form on tv. It's boring and I always find myself waiting for it pass, like the passengers on a speed boat whose anchor has anciently fallen off.

Maybe it's also that I hate Peter Bishop. He reminds me of a fat chick at the DMV. He bitches non-stop! I wish Walter Bishop would light him on fire and throw his butt off the Gondor citadel.

When Peter left the "scooby-doo gang" and out of the plot, I thought, "YESS!! He's quit!! We'll only see him in cameos or something!" Then he came back and I did a Darth Vader "Nooo".

Anyway, the show is great, but that one jerk is a rock in my shoe...

Someone said at one point that all good stories are about people.

I'm not sure that I'm convinced about how they're handling this season, but the story, from the beginning, has essentially been about the characters, not the crazy science happening in each episode.

I think what you want, and what I'd ask for, is that each episode be a little bit more of its own entity, and a little bit less a part of the big story. Season 1, and mostly season 2 felt this way; season 3 not so much so far.

Oh yeah! Don't get me wrong. I really like the other characters.
