I was interested in using voice chat with a friend, but since Trillan doesn't seem to support AOL's chat feature I'm out of ideas. Any way to use the voice chat feature without installing AOL's crap?

You can always go to another piece of software for voice chat, such as
TeamSpeak. It's not
quite as convenient as clicking a single button, but it's not AOL software.

AIM is pretty decent, no spyware that I'm aware of and since my computer blocks ads anyway, everything is good.

Go to
http://www.oldversion.com/
and try picking up an AIM like 4.4 or 4.8.
They aren't all that bad.

I do use teamspeak for gaming, but finding a server for casual conversations is fairly impossible, so I was interested in useing the AOL service.
And how am I supposed to trust you with that paperclip in your avatar, hmm? So those old builds have the voice chat feature?

Yep, those builds at least. I don't know how much further down the voice feature goes.

Hell, if thats all you want to do, then why not use
IParty? Be sure to read the Readme.txt first! It contains instructions on how to run the software.
