Fake people

One of my pet peeves are people that come off as being fake.

Example: There is this guy that I "met" about five times before he could remember my name. The first few times, he didn't even remember that he had met me before. Each time he acted like he really cared about me, he'd single me out in a group of people, ask me about myself, and ask how he could pray for me. By the third time he had done this, it really peeved me.

So, here's the question: should I let it go because the guy has good intentions, or should I bothered by it because I feel that he's representing my faith poorly by coming off like a used car salesman to the people that he talks to?

The way I see it Snoopy, as long as it's not patronizing, there's too damn many people to start singling any out.

As someone who has a horrific ability to remember names I would cut him some slack on that side. Who knows, he could have a brain injury....at the end of the day, you get one more person praying for you.

It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16 The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. 18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.

Paul didn't seem to care why or how the Gospel was preached. Only that it was preached.
this has given me a new perspective on the street corner preachers. it doesnt matter that you feel he is representing your faith poorly.

BUT on the other hand, if he is preaching falsh teachings

For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group. 11 They must be silenced, because they are disrupting whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach—and that for the sake of dishonest gain. 12 One of Crete’s own prophets has said it: “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.”[c] 13 This saying is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith 14 and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the merely human commands of those who reject the truth. 15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. 16 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good
