I use Comodo on a couple of my machines and I know they got hacked but don't understand what that means to me.

Should I change my virus or firewall to another provider?

Starts out "Leo: So let's talk about this Comodo breach."

Not necessarily, but if you can't trust them to issue certificates, then can you trust them to write good antivirus software?

Really can't put to much trust in one company any more. IO Bit for example was stealing Malwarebytes database for while before they caught on. And these guys put out a great little diagnostic tool called Advanced SystemCare.

Comodo is best known for its firewall capabilities. Yeah it comes with a lot of bells and whistles, but useful if you want the extra control. As for the Anti Virus, it has greatly improved in version 5, compared to the last two. But I still find other free A/V programs to be better in scanning speed and detection. Avast and Avira is two of them.

Not everything Comodo does is cracked up to be.

Comodo DNS service is ok. OpenDNS or Google DNS is still the better choice.

Comodo Time Machine screwed many people over on 64 bit OS. Crashed VM Ware a few times when I played around with it.

As for your other problem. You might want to relate that question on the Comodo forums.
