I have a laptop im trying to get on our network at work. It uses LEAP authentication. The Laptop is Windows7. Microsoft says Win7 works fine with LEAP networks. With XP, you had to use the wifi utility that came with your wifi card in order for it to work. XP did not support LEAP.

Anyhoo - i can't get Win7 to work on LEAP. I see options for PEAP, but it does not like it when i use that. I get the prompt to login but it never authenticates.

I also cannot find the Wifi Utility for the card im using.. Atheros AR9285

I can plug in a Linksys USB wireless card and run the software that comes with it, and it works like a charm.
Any ideas?

Found the fix.. and wow - not something i would normally try.

Downloaded the Intel PROSet WiFi drivers and app - did a full install on it.

Once it finished, it of course said that it couldn't detect an Intel WiFi Card. But going in Windows and changing the wifi settings on the Atheros card, Cicco LEAP is now listed when it was not before.

So there ya go!
