A 'friend' indeed...

Post by Nightshade »

Now I wouldn't dispute that when a nation's sovereignty is violated, it has a right to respond- though I have a feeling our 'ally' Pakistan has a lot to answer for as it has to be clear SOMEONE in the government or military was obviously harboring Bin Laden.

I suppose this threat had to be made for the government of Pakistan to save face with its people, but one really has to wonder.

Pakistan PM Warns of 'Full Force' Response to Future U.S. Raids

Pakistan's prime minister warned the United States Monday that his country could respond to any future U.S. raids on its soil with "full force," in the latest escalation of rhetoric in the wake of Usama bin Laden's death.

This will be interesting. Who will "blink" first, us or them, because you know that we're still sending drones over Pakistan to shoot missiles at Taliban insurgents.

It looks like we had a deal with Pakistan that we could go in anytime we thought we knew where he was and they would act all outraged and we would act like we did it without permission and that helps them keep the crazies from overthrowing the government for letting us come in and kill their hero.
Looks like everyone is living up to their end of the bargain.
Too bad we didn't have some way to include 'If you know where he is you have to tell us' to the arrangement because then this whole play could have been staged 5 years ago.

I'm surprised, given the fact bin Laden had a 50 million bounty on his head, that if some Pakistani knew where he was...didn't go for the money.
