(spoilers) Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Post by Sapphire Wolf »

I saw it recently and it was pretty... meh

Here are a few rants about the film:
Why is Optimus (as stated in Revenge of the Fallen) the last prime when Sentinel Prime was in stasis within the Ark?
There are 2 comebacks from G1, for example-
In the G1 episode Atlantis arise, Megatron destroyed the statue of Abraham Lincoln and used it as a throne
and using the space bridge to send Cybertron in orbit to Earth to gather energon from Earth, that is a call back to the G1 3 part episode 'Ultimate Doom'.

here are the contradictions:
In the first movie it is established that Megatron followed the All-spark to Earth, Now he claims that he came to earth to meet sentinel prime, I mean what the crap?

Secondly, not a single mention about the so called :'Ancient Primes' or The Fallen despite Sentinel Prime being a Prime

and finally, In Revenge of the Fallen, it was said that Sentinel Prime went on an expedition to find a new Sun for the star harvester to consume for energon. But in Dark of the Moon, Sentinel's reason for leaving Cybertron is changed entirely.

So yeah, in conclusion, this movie is NOT very recommended. At least the Racist Twins (Skids and Mudflap) are NOT in this film. And in conclusion within a conclusion Michael Bay raped my childhood memories! This is why I rather prefer the TV series (G1, Beast Wars, etc.) as well as War For Cybertron.

Congratulations, young apprentice.

Your eyes have been opened. Today you have become a man.

This happens in adulthood from time to time. You'll get used to it.

I saw DOTM yesterday and agree with "meh". It was still way better than Revenge, but that's not hard to do since that movie was a steamy pile of crap. The only thing that held my interest in DOTM was all the action in Chicago, my hometown. Although, I did enjoy Leonard Nimoy's return to Transformers. Also, they totally blew it with Shockwave. I mean, he's such an important element to the TF storyline and this was a perfect place for him to have a role. But no, he's just another henchman.

I just saw DotM tonight. It was good action wise. I don't know the story lines as much as you guys from the TV it was kinda 30 years ago for me. But reading what was said here, yes there seem to be some changes from the show and other movies.

I don't disagree with that. My point is just that this will probably happen to you again. Lots of other considerations (like things YOU care about) will fall by the wayside when money is involved.
Like I said, you'll get used to it.

Sapphire if it makes you feel any better. But be glade for the internet and its reviewers. I personally enjoyed the Nostalgia Critic ripping into The Secret of NIMH 2 and The Neverending Story 2 and 3.

I saw the theatrical trailer but it looked ridiculous. They should have given up after Revenge of the Fallen, which no one seemed to like. Tired of all the anti-moon movies anyway.

I downloaded the last transformers movie because my GF wanted to see it.

I paid too much.

I'm not interested in seeing more of my childhood get raped.

Then you might want to stay clear of the new Voltron.
