In short, SNOW!!!
over 10 cm snow over last night, and it's continuing to snow pretty hard now....
Pretty chilly at -1 degrees, but should warm up tomorrow (max 11)

Its winter in the southern hemisphere? Who'd have thought it? I'll be sure to post a thread in November or December later this year, when winter is starting in the Northern Hemisphere, when snow hits the ground.

Send that snow up here right now, or the sheep gets it.

They're probably already getting it... cold winters kill quite a few sheep in New Zealand each year they happen.

Yep, the sheep got it.... (Or some of them at least. When you go biking through farmland after a snow storm you can see it)
December?
Almost Christmas, only another 6 months or so, but the snow is already here!
I've been out and about, on a toboggan made from two scavenged ski's. Remind me:
1) Not to try doing a jump (OW!!)
2) Use only small hills. It goes far faster than most shop bought ones!
Oh, and it's still snowing, and showing no signs of stopping. Up to ~20 cm now in the front garden, 15 cm in sheltered spots.

Call me when you top 100 feet, whatever the hell that is in metric, and then we can talk about weather.
There's a reason Fargo won "worst weather city" in America.
Youve got a little white on the ground. Button your coat up. Pansies.

Yeah, snow is a bit overrated, but you have to admit it is cool until you start not being able to open doors.
If you want to know 100 feet is 30.48 meters, and I doubt that that will fall here in New Zealand for at least the next thousand years or so.
Made a snow-penguin, I'll see if I can post a photo of it soon.

You can't really get that much snowfall in a climate like New Zealand's - needs to be in a continental interior (much like North Dakota is).

I'd love to be in the southern hemisphere during this part of the year. Even here in low-humidity high-altitude Denver, the heat absolutely drives me nuts.

West coast = Cold, Wet, Miserable (at least most of the time) their rain days a year is probably over 200

I don't know, one gets used to the rain here. Seattle, not so much. Way too many days of
grey for my taste. I'd take the West Coast rain and relatively nice summers over the extreme summer dew points and the bitter cold snowstorms in the east and south of this country. The old joke is, "In Oregon, you don't tan, you rust".
