Homemade nukes in Sweden

Post by dissent »

Man arrested for building nuclear reactor in his kitchen
At some point, it must have occurred to the man that what he was building might not have been entirely legal, because he placed a friendly call to the Swedish Radiation Authority to see if there were any laws on the books regarding homemade nuclear reactors. Local police arrived shortly thereafter ...

Havnt people made home made fusion apparatuses in their garages?

And the article seems surprisingly vague...what the hell was he trying to use as fuel?

Personal nuclear reactors would be pretty damn awesome tho.

The reason you kind of have to regulate fooling around like this by default is that, if you screw things up (which is very easy to do), you're not just messing yourself up...you're probably irradiating your neighbors as well. :P
