I remember thinking that this was really cool, with the effects and music. Though I think mine loaded faster than the one in the link. I used be able to execute it to show off to friends. Wow, I was really nerdy back then.

I always liked the Windows 95 intro that blew away Windows 3.1. Kind of like it was saying, so long you worthless sack of crap.

I remember seeing that Welcome to Windows 98 thing. Has a pretty catchy song though. :)

I remember being annoyed at having to close that thing every time I reinstalled that glitchy cut rate OS.

Nothing. That's why I put up with having to reformat every 6 months until someone sent me a Windows 2000 CD. Upgrading my old K6/3 Machine to Windows 2000 was the best thing I ever did for it.

Funny, as I was reading the thread, I was thinking: "I think I reinstalled win98 about every 6 months when I was running it."

If I was feeling exceptionally patient, I would sometimes put it off so I went almost a year between reinstalls. I still think I have the old disc I used plus all the driver crap, somewhere.
