Now I feel bad I played mine to death. The big white brick gameboy was my favorite game system.

I'd imagine this price is for a never-opened box, which would be exceedingly rare.

SNES, I think, was the best console ever made.

I only had a few games, my favorites were Super Mario Land and Metroid 2, I also had Super Mario Land 2 which was pretty fun. Although at first all I had was Tetris which got to be pretty maddening. One other game I had was Beetlejuice which I was never able to finish because it was borderline impossible...

Yeah, I was impressed with super mario land 2. I think I still have it... I remember it being kinda short. Like, I beat it the day I got it, I think.
Did anyone play Final Fantasy Legend 2? I really liked that game. It was pretty long and had good music, for the gameboy. A nice song:

I had a dream the other day that I took over my nephew's super mario 1 for gameboy game in the middle of the game and made him really mad by finishing it.
I played through SM1 and SM2 for gameboy so many times....
Yeah, if you look at the "new & used" the prices were a lot lower even for the "new" ones not in the box.
I should buy the next console and just stick the unopened box in the attic.... see if I can make a grandchild rich.

Metroid, R-Type, & Mega Man FTW ! SML was ok too, used to play it through on the way to class (~45min train ride)

I own some re-releases of NES/SNES titles, and there are a few more I'd like to buy on the Wii Virtual Console, but I'd love to start collecting a few on their original cartridges.

I never understood the value of having a billion NES games. There's like only a hand full I'd ever want to play again.
By the way, Crystalis is the best NES action rpg. Love it. It feels like a SNES game but with NES graphics.

You realize bragging about collecting ROMS on classic games is pretty much akin to bragging about a celebrity's signed poster, copied from a copy machine? It may look great, but it's never the real thing.

Also, unless you own all the cartridges, it is bragging about all of the games that you have stolen and probably grounds for legal action.

Ive got a couple of n64 games on my Wii's virtual console. Ive also got a couple of retro game collections for the game cube: the Sonic Megacollection, Megaman X Collection, and the Megaman Anniversary edition. I should have done my homework on the anniversary one, as the controls in the gamecube version are too fucked up to play in all games except Megaman 8. I have been playing Megaman for literally over 20 years and there is no way I can adapt to reversed jump and fire controls. Because of that I have to use an emulator for 1-7. Likewise in the Megaman X collection, they screwed up X3 and used the Saturn version rather than the SNES version, and the sound effects and music are all wonky, and the physics are slightly different, making it harder to dash jump off walls. Furthermore, the X collection does not work on a Wii console that is using the official Nintendo Component cables. It does something to the video format that makes my TV say its an unrecognized format, so I have to play using my actual gamecube. Composite looks terrible on my HDTV.
The Sonic collection however, is great.
Also I've got a hori gamepad to play all these with. The official gamecube controller has a joke for a D-pad.
If I ever have some spare cash, one of my goals is to re-acquire a working NES and SNES and all the games I used to have in their original, physical form. I never should have gotten rid of them in the first place and I regret it deeply.
