2011-08-24 downtime.

So some of you might have noticed that the board was offline for a bit today, and even after it came back I had disabled it for a short while.
Well, the problem that has been a headache for RC and I for a while, the database log file growing to absurd proportions for no apparent or fixable reason finally reached its limits and mssql refused to serve the board anymore till we manually truncated the log file (which had no negative impact on the board and RC was able to do it from his smart phone). Then this evening I logged into the server and did what I've been meaning to do for quite some time: change the database back-end from the MSSQL server to a MySQL server RC kindly installed specifically for this board.
So on this new back-end, the out of control log file problem should be resolved (although I will be keeping an eye on it for sure). But more importantly MySQL brings a very useful side benefit: fulltext native mysql search indexing. So for the first time in years, the built in search engine on the board works.
TL/DR: SEARCH WORKS AGAIN.
P.S. there might be a minor blip of downtime tomorrow while I update the board software.
