FAT Rolling laptop bag

Post by Isaac »

I got this thing for about $35 at Target, which I now think was meant for lighter loads. It was the only kind they had. After a week of solid use, loading it up with all my huge books and my netbook, I can tell this thing isn't going to last the whole semester. Also, I think the handle is meant for short people.

I want:
-water resistant
-durable
-meant to carry at least 4 jumbo text books (big enough to kill if dropped), my laptop, and my gear.
-FAT wheels so I can go over the cobble stones on campus with out knocking the teeth out of my laptop. Though, so far it seems to be ok.
-handle for mofos that are at least 6" tall.

DEAR INTERNET PEOPLE! *BOWS* Did you ever buy anything like this?

I made that mistake before. Unless you are a business traveler, rolling bags are more hassle than benefit, as you've discovered.

First tip: carry only the books you'll need for the day. If you can get a locker and use it, or get electronic versions of your texts.

And then get decent backpack and wear it properly(use the hipbelt).
