I've posted a thread about this on pd.net-
http://nerdapproved.com/movies/george-l ... r-blu-ray/
This is a bad sense of a step backwards, the original theatrical editions of episodes IV-VI will not be included! Why, George Lucas, WHY!!!!

I am altering the films. Pray I don't alter them any further.

I thought the new stuff added to the old movies looked like crap. All they did was add a bunch of fake looking 3d effects. On the other hand, I'd pay to see Lucas trash his own movies with crazy funny stuff. Like Darth Vader scratching his butt or Chewie picking and eating things out of his fur. Maybe when Luke first turns on the light saber he can now say, "AAH ****!!!" and drop it. Or better yet, they could add those censored squares around the ewoks' genitals.
Realistically, he adds crap (excuses/reasons) so that he can tie in 3 more movies, about to go into production. IT'S MONEY!

Ive just sort of stopped paying attention to all the new "revisions" that that pompous ass keeps making to his films. I'm a Star Wars fan, but not of Lucas' Star Wars anymore. I read the expanded universe stuff, and that plus the original theatrical versions of the film are what I consider "real" Star Wars.
I would pay good money for a version of the original Trilogy that was just the original theatrical release, no special edits, no added sound effects or CGI characters, just what was on the screen in the late 70s and early 80s. Of course we know thats never going to happen, because he knows people like me would just buy THAT version and never buy another version ever again.

He actually did put that out with the individual DVD volumes of the Original Trilogy. Each one had a "bonus" disk with the theatrical cut of the movie.

I don't want it on a "bonus" disc, I wanna buy just the original trilogy.

Well that's why I put "bonus" in quotes...think of it as buying the Original Trilogy and ignoring the other disk.

yeah, we just watched the original "bunus" movies. Still awesome movies.
the quality of the bonus ones on the DVD is pretty sucky though.

The quality is bad? Like the detail in the footage isn't clear? Or it's all scratchy?
